Between the Doors (ii)

Installation
Concept:

'Between the Doors (ii) / Kati Kati ya Milango' is a piece that capsules time, moments and creates a feeling of perpetuity. The miniature figures are part of a world they cannot escape from, they cannot rearrange themselves in different locations with different possibilities, actions, or reactions, they are stuck – hung on hangers like ornaments – never in control of their destiny, engulfed by contemporary religious images. Between the Doors is a world much like our situation, much like our mindsets, a world of suspension and passive-aggressive attitudes.”

The piece is now housed in the Kouvola Art Museum Permanent Collection.
